We donated a container to the Happy Hippie Foundation!

We made out way over to sunny Los Angeles, California to present The Happy Hippie Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by singer Miley Cyrus, with a new custom 20′ shipping containerWe made out way over to sunny Los Angeles, California to present The Happy Hippie Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by singer Miley Cyrus, with a new custom 20′ shipping container

On Friday, December 18, the container debuted at an event at My Friend’s Place, a community centre on Hollywood Boulevard that serves homeless and at-risk youth in the L.A. area. Volunteers from Happy Hippie were on scene to hand off cold weather gear and basic needs items, and My Friend’s Place was giving out a hot meal to those who came by.

Happy Hippie has a mission “to rally young people to fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBTQ youth and other vulnerable populations.” After raising the profile of one Los Angeles organization by inviting a young homeless man to last year’s MTV Video Music Awards – and having him accept her award onstage – Miley Cyrus is ready for a bigger and more permanent home for her activism. “I’ve experienced fame, and money,” she told Entertainment Tonight, “and none of it will make you as happy as when you’re actually fighting for something.”

All of us at Giant are thrilled to be supporting an incredible initiative like Happy Hippie and we will continue to support charities and initiatives that make our world a better place, especially for those who need it most. We hope that Happy Hippie makes an excellent use of this shipping container, as they already have! This eye-catching container will be used at future events and for bringing donated items and goods to those who are in need.
