RLA Kiln project consists of (5) 20' Standard height containers combined together to create a kiln room and storage space at the Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center located in Downey, CA within the county limits of Los Angeles. The kiln room is temperature controlled, accessible and will be used to provide for ceramic art therapy to persons with physical disabilities. The hospital, which is on the same site as the kiln room, provides rehabilitation services in stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, pediatrics, orthopedics and diabetes care, pressure ulcer management, limb preservation and post- amputation care. Rancho continues to pioneer creative programs that promote recovery, community reintegration and independence for persons recovering from or living with physical disability.
